I work at Tobacco Sales Floor (TSF). The union has assisted us in negotiating safe working conditions, safety clothing, and salary increments. I have seen fellow members benefit immensely from having workplace disputes resolved between employees and employers.

I work at Zimbabwe Leaf Tobacco Company (ZLT). The Zimbabwe Tobacco Industry Workers' Union (ZTIWU) is an excellent workers' representative organization that vigorously defends the rights of its members. We have successfully advanced workplace rights for women and expanded access to sanitary pads. The union promptly addresses all abuses, including sexual harassment and nepotism. Additionally, the union generously provides retiring members with food hampers and funeral assistance.

We, the workers at BHC Boost and Cotton, have agreed not to accept representation from any trade union other than ZTIWU at our workplace. They have successfully facilitated the provision of safety clothing and lobbied against our employer’s practice of issuing weekly contracts. We are now receiving our gratuity. I have no words to adequately express my appreciation for the union’s impact.

The Trade Union continues to set a top-notch standard of representation across the tobacco industry. Its key strengths and achievements lie in governance and compliance. The organization strictly adheres to its founding principles as enshrined in the Constitution, convenes meetings promptly, and ensures accountability and transparency to its members. ZTIWU also upholds the highest standards of democracy.

I work at Tobacco Processors Zimbabwe (TPZ), and after careful consideration, I chose to join the Zimbabwe Tobacco Industry Workers' Union (ZTIWU). What convinced me was how effectively the union handles members’ issues, representing workers from the company level all the way to the National Employment Council. ZTIWU offers a strong support system through its Benefit and Solidarity package. For instance, members receive a condolence token in the event of a death, and upon retirement, they are given a grocery hamper. These gestures show the union’s commitment to its members’ welfare beyond just workplace matters. Moreover, ZTIWU has achieved victories in the majority of cases affecting workers, proving its dedication and effectiveness in fighting for employees' rights. My experience has been positive, and I am confident that the union truly stands for the workers it represents.
